Ultra High Purity Gases
There is a major gulf between the industrial gas supplier and the specialty gas supplier. The former states minimal purities for gases such as Argon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Oxygen but these stated purities are not guaranteed whereas a specialty gas supplier certifies the purity of the gas in the cylinder and lists the impurities and maximum concentrations present. Certainty that these impurity levels are not exceeded is critical in many laboratory and medical tasks. Some Specialty Gas companies use various descriptions such as High Purity and Ultra High Purity to classify their products whereas we at Buzwair use the 9’s numeric system. For example N2 5.0 means 5 nines purity or 99.999%. More to the point this means the total impurity is less than 0.001% or 10vpm. So N2 6.0 means a purity of 99.9999% or a total impurity of 1vpm.
There are purities in between 5.0 and 6.0 such as H2 5.5. This equates to a purity of 99.9995% or a total impurity equal to or less than 5vpm. We accomplish these purities through a number of technically challenging processes and verify these purities and concentrations with state of the art analytical instrumentation. These processes include but are not limited to cylinder preparation, proprietary purification unique to each gas, properly designed and hermetic delivery systems with analytical systems and methods designed to identify impurities to less than one part per million.
There are purities in between 5.0 and 6.0 such as H2 5.5. This equates to a purity of 99.9995% or a total impurity equal to or less than 5vpm.
